Free Parent/Carer Support Groups

Free parent/carer support groups are available for parents/carers of young people aged 11-18 living in Gloucestershire struggling with mental health, emotional wellbeing and behavioural issues.

Online mental health resources co-designed for parents by parents

MindEd for Families is an innovative online resource providing information and advice to parents and carers with concerns about a child's mental health and wellbeing. It was developed following engagement with more than 120 parents who have experience of child and teenage mental health problems and it is free. It covers 35 themes including everyday parenting, risky behaviour and bullying.

MindEd is suitable for all adults working with, or caring for, infants, children or teenagers; all the information provided is quality assured by experts, useful and easy to understand. They aim to give adults who care for, or work with, young people:

  • the knowledge to support their wellbeing
  • the understanding to identify a child at risk of mental health condition
  • the confidence to act on their concern and, if needed, signpost to services that can help
